The Cerro Coso Cross Country Team Competed in the SoCal Regional Preview on Friday October 4th. Coach Slaymaker said, "It was a hot and humid race and the runners still rose to the occasion. For our men's team Tristen Attakai led the group with a time of 26:48, Julian Ramos followed closely behind with a time of 27:02, and Andrew Quackenbush ran a time of 33:31. The boys team has been dealing with some injuries and only 3 of 5 of our runners competed. All 3 we had compete Friday really rose to the occasion and had a strong showing.
On the women's side we had Genevieve Vogel run she ran 30:59. Genevieve has been a positive person and hard working runner throughout her time at Cerro Coso and she continues to run well.
Our next steps as a team are just getting the full squad to the starting line. We've taken big steps as a program this year but getting everyone healthy and competing again is our final big hurdle as we approach the end of the season.
The Coyotes next race will be October 18 at the Mt Sac Invitational
