Chris Dugan was hired in the fall of 2018 to be the head coach.

During his time at Cerro Coso he has overall record of 105-54 (.660 winning %). During the 23-24 season, Dugan led the Coyotes to a school record 25 wins and 1st Elite Eight in school history. 23-24 marked the 3rd consective year that the Coyotes made the playoffs. Every season in the IEAC the Coyotes have finsihed in the top 4 of the conference. He has helped 12 student-athletes transfer to four-year universities. 

Dugan began his coaching career at the College of the Sequoias as the lead assistant for CCCMBCA Hall of Famer Rusty Smith for 5 seasons (2013-2018). He has this to say about Rusty Smith " My time working for Rusty was not only enjoyable, but extemely impactful on my coaching. I wouldn't be the coach I am today if it was not for his mentorship." 

Prior to his time at COS, Dugan was the video coordinator at San Jose State University (2012-13) were he worked for CCCMBCA Hall of Famer George Nessman. 

As a native of Santa Maria, CA were he played 2 years at Allan Hancock College before he moved on to San Jose State Univeristy as a walk-on.
