The Lady Coyote Softball Team couldn't hold off Santa Barbara in a wild home opener. In a sport that is traditionally known for its fast pace, the matchup between the Vaqueros and Coyotes lasted 3 hours, and ended after 5 innings. The game went back and forth, and at one point became tied at 10-10 when the Coytotes showed some offensive determination, but the game became lopsided going into the fifth when the score finished at Vaqueros 22 - Coyotes 11. There is still much to be excited about as Coyote softball continues move forward into this young season with signs of promise. They look to rebound this Friday afternoon as they host San Bernardino Valley College in a double header starting at 12:00.
