The Lady Coyotes pick up their first win of the season 12-9 over visiting Barstow College. In a well attended home opener, the Coyotes knocked out 14 hits and rode a solid pitching performance by Mikalea Hopkins to earn the win. Hopkins went a complete seven innings allowing 9 runs and striking out 2. On offense the Coyotes were lead by Yohaley Avitia (3-4, 3 RBI) and Thalia Castaned (3-4, 3 RBI). However this was a team effort as the offense exploded scoring a season high 12 runs on the afternoon. The Lady Coyotes return to action on the road this weekend as they head to Mt. San Jacinto CC for tournament action this Friday and Saturday.
