The Cerro Coso Coyote Baseball team is set to open a 3 game set with visiting Porterville Pirates Tuesday at 3:00. The Coyotes return to action after challenging series with Merced CC last week. The Coyotes were swept by a very strong Blue Devils team last week after the Coyotes weren't able to hold off Merced's offensive attack. On Saturday, the Coyotes pulled within three runs in the seventh inning after a four run rally made the score 4-7, but Merced answered back by scoring two more runs. However, the Coyotes would not go down without a fight putting up two runs of their own keeping the score within three runs at 6-9, but the comeback just wasn't enough as Merced held off the Coyotes in the ninth inning. 

Cerro Coso enters the second CVC series of the season with a 0-3 start and will face Porterville CC owners of a 1-2 CVC record. The series will be continued this weekend when Cerro Coso travels to Porterville on Friday and Saturday to complete the three game set.
