Coyote Baseball, Double Header on March 3rd

The Cerro Coso Coyote baseball team took 2 out 3 in the Antelope Valley series last week and prepare to take on Victor Valley in a double header this Saturday. 

Recap: The Coyotes split with AVC this past Saturday.

Game One: Tyson Banks (2-0) picked up the complete game win with seven innings pitchd, allowing 5 runs, walking 2 and striking out 5. The Coyotes collected 13 hits highlighted by a Cole Martin (.231) homerun. Caleb Johnson (.306), Corey Young (.468), Tyson Banks (.365), Solomon Maddox (.404) and Rey Torres (.242) all had multiple hits on the day.

Game Two: The Coyotes lost in difficult fashion in game two as the game went into extra innings. Trailing by 3 runs in the seventh inning, the Coyotes climbed back into the game by scoring 2 in the seventh and 1 in the eighth, but couldn't capitalize by bringing in the go ahead run.

This Saturday's double header against Victor Valley CC completes the three game set between the two teams. Game one went to Victor Valley, as they posted a late game comeback by scoring 5 runs in the eighth inning to earn the 11-8 win. This rematch will feature the Coyotes with a 7-8 record hosting the Rams owners of a 4-11 record.
